Learner Driver Licence
For new drivers and riders the first licence needed is a Learner's Licence.
To obtain your learners licence you will need to:
- obtain a copy of Northern Territory Road Users’ Handbook (you will need to study this before attempting the MVR Theory Test.)
- provide completed form L1 - Application for a NT Driver/Rider Licence.
- provide Evidence of Identity and Residency.
- be at least 16 years of age. If under 17 years of age, parental consent is required by providing completed form L3 - Parental Consent - Stat Dec.
- attempt the MVR Theory Test for a Learner Licence (based on information published in the Road User Handbook).
- pass an eyesight test.
