Commercial Passenger Vehicle
The Commercial Passenger Vehicle Branch of the Road Transport Division, is responsible for the development and implementation of commercial passenger vehicle policy within legislative frameworks and with due regard to Government, industry and key stakeholder requirements. This includes commercial passenger vehicle standards, operator accreditation, driver licensing, monitoring compliance and the management of complex complaints. The Branch also provides information, advice and secretariat support to the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Board.

Evaluation of the Mitchell St Secure Taxi Rank
As a trial, a Secure Taxi Rank located outside the Darwin Cinemas on Mitchell Street was established in August 2008. The secure taxi rank operates with a concierge and security staff on Friday and Saturday nights from midnight to 5am and at all other times operates as a standard taxi rank.
